Join us for an afternoon online, where Patty Lyons, teacher extraordinaire, will show us the “how” and “why” of her favorite tricks.
We’re thrilled that Patty will lead this afternoon of live instruction and demonstration. It’s the ultimate watch-and-learn situation, so fun to see exactly how Patty does what she does.

About Patty
Wherever knitters are gathered, there is a good chance of finding Patty. She teaches all over the United States at guilds, shops, and knitting shows. Patty’s popular classes can also be found on DVD, and online at Interweave, Annie’s, and Craftsy.
Patty’s designs and knitting technique articles have been published in Vogue Knitting, Interweave Knits, Knit Purl, Knitter’s Magazine, Cast On, Knit Style, Creative Knitting, and Twist Collective. What You’ll Need
Two small balls of worsted to chunky weight yarn in a light color. Needles and a crochet hook appropriate for your yarn. And a small bit of sock yarn or crochet cotton
We have copies of Patty’s best-selling book, Patty Lyons’ Knitting Bag of Tricks: Over 70 Sanity Saving Hacks for Better Knitting. Not required for the class but it’s a fantastic companion and makes a very handy reference.
Inquiring Minds Want to Know
Is this class suitable for beginning knitters? Yes—but you will need to know how to knit, purl, bind off, and knit long tail cast on in slingshot position. You can review the long tail cast on with Patty here.
How should I get ready for the workshop? Gather the things you’ll need above. We will send out a reminder email the morning of the event with the Zoom link.
What’s the format? With Patty’s instruction and an overhead camera focused on her hands, we’ll learn Patty’s favorite knitting hacks. Participant mics will be muted most of the time due to the size of the group, but we hope you’ll ask questions in the chat, which we’ll monitor constantly during the workshop and answer as possible during the workshop.
What if I want to work at my own pace? That’s perfectly fine. All participants will receive a recording after the event for you to review.
I can’t make it to the Zoom session. May I still participate? Sure! Everyone enrolled in the workshop will receive a link to the recording and all resources we share.

I will be attending a class with you at Nina Chicago in a few weeks. Will this be the same class?
I created a special class just for MDK. There will be a few tricks that overlap from Patty’s Knitting Bag of Tricks, but TONS of tricks that are not in that class.

I have been to a couple of Patty’s classes at VK Live in NYC. She is a fabulous teacher. You get your money’s worth because she stay on target and gets through a lot of material. By the time you finish the class you REALLY have learned something. The cost of this class is a steal, truly a steal. I’m signing on as soon as I can:)
