Dear Knitter,

Welcome to your Saturday!

It’s almost Patty Lyons Eve! In less than a week, the Queen of Clever, who shares both the how and the why of knitting—will be teaching her first-ever virtual class at MDK. As we know from her Ask Patty columns on MDK, Patty has more tricks up her sleeve than the Great Purlini. We’re thrilled that she’s cooking up a special class just for us.

Patty’s classes are perpetually oversubscribed, and she plans to cover a ton of tricks—so get in on this beautiful opportunity. Register here for this May 10 funfest.

Meanwhile …

We had a big time on MDK this week.

Thrilling announcement alert: Who is the designer for the new MDK Field Guide? Find out why we’re so excited.

Want to get your copy first AND support MDK while you’re at it? Subscribe to MDK Field Guides.

From Samantha Brunson, a tale of the city co-starring a fantastic handknit scarf.

In springtime a knitter’s fancy lightly turns to thoughts of cotton. Who better than Jillian Moreno to bring us a timely primer on cotton yarns?

How 22 balls of Felted Tweed helped Ann Hood plot the twists and turns of her new novel, The Stolen Child.

Whee! Kay polevaulted onto a bandwagon.

Does driving around Scotland in a camper van with Alan Cumming and Miriam Margolyes sound like a hoot? We thought so, too!

Support What You Love

At MDK, we have one job: making fun happen for knitters. Every morning, we bring the best writers, teachers, and knitting to you, free of charge and free of ads. This daily stream of humor, learning, and big-hearted community is only possible because of your purchases from the MDK Shop—thank you!

Questions? Email us anytime at, and you’ll get a personal response from a real live MDK person.

Stay healthy, take care of each other, and knit on.

PS Please share this Snippets with a friend—we’d appreciate it so much.

We’ve done a thing—Nash Yarn Fest will be a time to celebrate everything we love about the knitting world. You’ll have the chance to learn, to shop, to be entertained. To make new friends and to reunite with dear ones.

We’ll start the fun on Friday night, March 14 and go all day on Saturday the 15th.

Classes are being created, entertainment is being booked, and vendors are signing on.

More than anything, Nash Yarn Fest is going to be a party for the ages. We do not rule out spontaneous dancing!

We’ll keep you posted on Nash Yarn Fest as it develops—subscribe to our Nash Yarn Fest newsletter right here for updates and announcements of classes and ticket sales.
