Pooch Models Are Just Like Us

You’ve seen the Poochbook. You loved the Poochbook. Now put your paws together for a look into the lives and personalities of the prolific pooch models.

Fiona would like you to know that normally her nails would be painted red and she would be in her matching power suit, but she didn’t want to intimidate anyone at the shoot. She feels sorry for those who cannot floof their hair into a proper triangle.
Fiona loves a white wine spritzer after a long hard day at the office and loves to drive her Chrysler Sebring convertible on sunny days. If you hear Paula Abdul blasting around the corner, watch out, Fiona is coming.

Bentley is very sensitive. Just because he’s named after a fancy car doesn’t mean he can’t be an easy-going, casual guy. Everyone assumes he has high standards for everything, but he just wants a good hot dog toy like the next pooch.
Sure, those yarn people put him in a sweater, but at the end of the day, you can find Bentley in jeans and a t-shirt drinking a Miller High Life, the Champagne of beers. (I guess that’s one fancy thing about him).

Dexter did not know he was signing up for all this modeling. He heard modeling and thought he was headed somewhere to work on his model airplanes (he loves the smell of fresh balsa wood in his snoot). It was a real let down when he walked in to see a giant wall of paper and more humans than he was prepared for. Honestly, rude.

Rose is Ashley Balding’s princess, which makes sense because they were cut from the same cloth: a little bit salty, and a little bit sweet, a lotta bit snores-loud-while-sleeping.
Rose loves to be the center of attention and has a pout that would make Cindy Crawford jealous. Rose was rescued from living on the streets and now lives every day exactly as she dang well pleases. This includes but is not limited to: eating trash, eating soil from expensive plants, and snatching take-out boxes from the closing fridge door.

Scout is the purest of pure souls. Life is not complicated; it’s just a series of new experiences. Her Mom (our own Emily Breedlove) and her Dad are so smart and tell Scout all she needs to know. One of her favorite activities is shredding toys, but her Mom and Dad tell her this is dangerous, so she just thinks about it, and that is enough.

Spot is a mix of a cattle dog, a terrier, and a log. He’s proud, stoic, and only grumpy if he can’t have his personal space. He drives a vintage ‘86 Jaguar—transportation of gentleman and scholars (and his sister Goldie if she insists).
Spot was slightly inconvenienced when asked to model for the Poochbook. He’d much rather be the artist behind the scenes like his Ma, Hannah Jones. Alas, he has a heart of gold but would appreciate his privacy at this time and at all times.

Goldie, little sister to Spot, has less of a heart of gold and more so a heart of palpitations. Sure, she’s nervous, but wouldn’t you be if you were a little gal in a big world? Goldie is very proud of her inexplicable hair tufts, especially her wispy mustache and horse-hair-like mane.
She hopes to one day be a beauty influencer so she can share all of her hair tips, but right now that’s kind of scary.

Lucy aka Baked Bean aka Bean aka Potato stole our hearts and the pooch shoot. Kermit once said, “it’s not easy being green,” but Lucy says, “it’s not easy being a bean.”
Just because she is slightly larger than a rotund guinea pig does not mean that she cannot command the attention of an entire warehouse. Her quiet yet somehow powerful demeanor is impossible to miss. Until she walks behind a shelf and then she is very possible to miss.

Bitsy is Bean’s BFF, but less focus on the “best” and also the “forever.” Bean gets all of the attention, but that’s okay because Bitsy knows how to pose for the camera. Her perky ears and striking smize will leave you wanting more. She loves to have a night out on the town every now and then just to remind herself she’s still young. You can usually find her at the local T.G.I.Fridays drinking a cosmo and chatting up the bartender.
Well this was just…..HILARIOUS!!! Thank you for getting my day off on such a high note!!!
New fan club!
Raspberry loves this. She is a slightly fluffy black with tan spots, 8 inch tall, 30 inch long person of the dachshund persuasion.
Such exciting lives these supermodels have!
My Bertie couldn’t handle all the excitement.
Tilligator Barksalot, who is a Keeshond (look it up) thinks all of your models are a lazy lot who need to start growing their OWN hair.
Loved hearing about all the pooches!
Franklin Delano Pug is most impressed with all these sweaters! He is extremely excited that his mom is going to make him his very own version of a Narutomaki Vest! The swirls, he thinks, will be perfect compliments to his spinning feats to try and catch that elusive tail!
That’s cute 🙂
Thanks for the adorable pup models to be admired with our morning coffee.
My Papillon, Brody, will freeze in place if I even think about putting a garment on him. I showed him the cute patterns in your pup book, to no avail – maybe a friend’s dog would enjoy a sweater.
Always appreciate your warm-heartedness and the smiles!
Speaking to Buddy (a most important cat) about his ability to sport a jaunty little scarf and the ensuing modeling possibilities. Would be rewarded with much bigger treats basket.
Love the summer of pooches.
I loved everything about this! Hilarious!
Love this! Perfect start to a Sunday!
Hysterical- a great way to start this day! Love them all.
Hilarious! Thanks, Ashley!
Oh my goodness! This is priceless! Log? I’ve got one that’s part log. Rotund Guinea pig? lol! The dogs and the sweaters are perfect!
Omg, this was the BEST thing to wake up to! I think they all need an agent and possibly $10K a shoot.
This is so much fun to read!
Pepelolo, our year old scruffy Chihuahua mix, doesn’t mind modeling as long as he gets a belly rub. But it’s hard to catch him slowing down enough for pictures otherwise. He will wrestle his blanket if no one will play with him. His sister Alegría is easier, she’s part log. Their “uncle” Dusty, our senior cat, will lay on a sweater but heaven forbid we try putting him in one. It might mess up his beautiful gray fur.
Perfect post! Thank you for another great morning read.
Let’s hear it for bigger dogs! Where are the Goldens, the labs, the pitted?
