Dear friends,

This Atlas Insider should read  “HEY, I FINISHED MY SWEATER FROM THE PATTERN SCOUT IN RECORD TIME!”

If you need a reminder of my sweater journey, take a look at my post from April. Clear eyes, big hearts, can’t lose.

But that’s just not the few weeks I’ve had lately. And thus here I am, writing in regular, ridiculous and normally capitalized words that I’m only slightly further along on my Ingrid Summer Sweater than I was a month ago.

Instead of employing my ultimate focus and concentration to knit, I’ve been a supine counterpart to my equally sleepy senior dogs. Last night in an effort of “this will show my procrastination what’s what,” I decided to add a sleeve instead of working more length on the body. Procrastination Paul did not get the memo, and now I have about 20 rows of a sleeve along with the body that is sitting just north of the mountain range.

As a reminder, my plan was to turn the Ingrid Summer Sweater into a tee version with short sleeves, a cropped length, and tied-on fringe on the hem. My vision was an eyelet-strewn summer throw-on with, dare I say, a twinge of straw-colored sex appeal.

As of now, I just bit into my third skein of Creative Linen for this guy. I’m definitely going to need a couple of more.

I do love how Creative Linen seems to be the yarn that keeps on giving. I don’t feel like I run through it so quickly, which is nice when you love a really oversized fit. I’m such a fan of this pattern, too.

This is my second Gregoria Fibers project and both have been easy to understand with the perfect balance of challenge and repetition.

My hope is to finish this in time for my FIRST-ever trip to Dollywood at the end of May. Chief Doodler and artist-extraordinaire Hannah Jones and I will be peeling out of MDK and staying at a resort in Dollywood to live out our country theme park dreams. We both grew up here in Nashville and have never gone to Ms. Parton’s Park. A true crime if ever there was one.

If I finish my sweater, I’ll be popping it on with some cutoff jorts and Crocs. When in Rome!
