Kate Winslet. I’ve got a Kate Winslet film fest going right now. She’s just so good to watch—a closeup of Kate Winslet is a masterclass in how to make a blink into a conversation, a turning point, the climax of an entire movie.

It’s her character choices that keep me fascinated. Her women are complicated, troubled, often unsympathetic, sometimes downright terrible people. In other words, delicious. That’s what movies are all about: introducing us to people on the cusp, on the edge, at the end of their rope. What now?

I just finished Mildred Pierce, the 2011 miniseries that I spooled out slowly because I didn’t want the five episodes to end. The trailer up top is more fraught than the actual film, a tribute I think to the source material, the 1941 novel Mildred Pierce by James M. Cain, the writer famous for his hardboiled crime novels.

Los Angeles has never looked dustier nor more noir. The Depression is on, in every sense of the word. Winslet plays a mother suddenly divorced with no visible means of support. How does she survive? Anybody who’s ditched a man, raised a girl, or started a business will find a lot to chew on.

Now, I’ve got this list of more Kate Winslet movies to watch. It’s going to be a good summer.

If you’re looking for your next thing to watch, have a look at our Knit to This department. So much good stuff in there.

    • So many good films, The Holiday

      • Finding Neverland

    • Loved this movie!

      • the dressmaker

      • Little Children or Heavenly Creatures. She plays an outsider in her own suburban neighborhood in the former, and a sociopathic murderous teenager in the later, and (warning!) both films address disturbing topics, but her performances? MWAH! Such an amazing talent!

      • Sense and Sensibility, definitely

        • I didn’t know she was so prolific! I have many to see but she is beautiful in Titanic.

        • Mare…

      • Mare of Easttown. I see I’m not alone!

        • She was PHENOMENAL in Mare of Eastwick. Absolutely jaw dropping performance.

        • Titanic…..

    • I Am Ruth with her daughter as co-star is Timely, hard-hitting and amazing.

      • THE HOLIDAY

        • That is a great one, I forgot about that. She has so many.

      • Sense and Sensibility. Winslet brings everything Marianne feels to the surface.

        • Sense and Sensibility and The Reader

  • “Sense and Sensibility” has long been a favourite. Not just because of Kate, but also Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman & Hugh Grant. Does it get any better than that?

    • I agree.

      • The dressmaker

  • Heavenly Creatures!

    • I will never forget Heavenly Creatures – or Finding Neverland….

      • Loved the Dressmaker!

    • Sense and Sensibility

    • I’ve watched the Holiday the most times since it needs to be watched during Christmas, but I love Sense and Sensibility the most.

    • Mare of Easttown

  • The Reader

    • Does Mare of Easttown count? Amazing series, hit me in the gut and stays with me. What an amazing portrayal of a flawed grieving woman.

      • Love them all but Titanic stays with me.

      • Sense and Sensibility

    • i know you said movie, but Mare of Easttown is my favourite. The Dressmaker outs a close second.

    • Sense and sensibility

  • The Reader

      • Sense and Sensibility. Like, clearly, dude.

  • Sense and Sensibility

    • She was incredible in Mare of Eastown but as a lover of Jane Austin (and Emma Thompson) I have to go with Sense and Sensibility,

  • Mare of Easttown

  • I love her in The Holiday.

    • Sense and Sensibility.

    • Mare of Eastown

  • I enjoyed her in The Holiday. It was a fun comedy with Kate showing a sweet vulnerability and kindness. A break from the serious and deep subject matter.

  • Sense and Sensibility

  • I also enjoy Sense and Sensibility. Parts of it were filed in Salisbury, England, where some of my in-laws live. My uncle, a gardener, tells of how he was asked to stop mowing while they were shooting at the historic house where he is caretaker. He was invited to lunch with the cast and crew and Emma Thompson thanked him personally. My aunt tells of how Alan Rickman riding up on the horse absolutely took her breath away.

    • Oh my gosh I bet! Alan Rickman doing anything always took my breath away! Such talent!

    • Thank you so much for sharing this story!!! Quite delighted to hear these behind the camera snapshots!!

      Eternal Sunshine for me….

    • What a wonderful story!

    • Mare of Eastwood!

  • Sense and Sensibility

  • The Holiday. Loved the scenery. Loved Kate’s character- and could unfortunately relate to her in many ways.
    Kathy

  • Mare of Easttown! Being from Pennsylvania and NJ I loved all the details, the accents, the Wawa coffee. Of course her portrayal of the middle class complicated, messy character was mesmerizing each episode.

    • “The Reader.” Kate was in an episode of Ricky Gervais’ show “Extras.” Hilarious!

  • Mare of Easttown

  • Mare

    • Titanic.

  • The Dressmaker, no question! A brilliant film!

  • My favourite has to be the Dressmaker

  • The Holiday

  • As Holiday’s the only one I’ve ever seen, that will do.

  • Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

    Thanks for the streaming recommendations!

  • The Holiday is my kind of movie.

  • Sense and Sensibility!

  • I loved her in Mare of Eastown, though it’s a series and not a movie.

  • Sense and Sensibility would be my choice.

  • Mare of Easttown. A couple I haven’t seen and now I will thanks to the suggestions

  • Sense and Sensibility

  • the Holiday

  • Mildred Pierce. Being a longer series rather than a 2 hr movie allowed so much more time to explore some of the subplots!

  • Mare of Eastown. So good.

  • “Mare of Easttown” is a great miniseries in which Kate’s talents shine.

  • The Dressmaker

  • In movies my favorite of hers is Sense and Sensibility; in TV it’s Mare of Easton.

  • Sense and Sensibility

  • I loved the Mare of Easttown series. I am local to the area where it set, so I was impressed by Kate’s ease with the dialect.

  • I need to watch more of her films, but The Holiday is a favorite- love her interactions with all four male characters.

  • Guess I need to watch Sense and Sensibility! Mare of Easttown and Titanic – so different, so good!

  • My favorite might be Mare of Eastown (not movie, a series) but that could change as I check out titles I might have missed on your list!

  • Mare of Easttown (not a movie but excellent!!))

    • Mare of Eastown. This has made me decide to do a Kate Winslwt marathon this summer.

  • Finding Neverland, and everything else!

  • Revolutionary Road. Her portrayal of a woman so clearly not if her era was readily reminiscent of my own mother.

  • A Little Chaos and Revolutionary Road. Different films for different moods.

  • The Holiday is a delight!

  • I loved Kate Winslet in The Dressmaker…and also in the series Mare of Easttown.

  • I loved her in The Holiday!

    • I loved her in Mare of Eastown

  • Sense and Sensbility, although my daughter would definitely say I should have chosen Titanic.

  • Heavenly Creatures!!!! An amazing movie and her first starring role!

  • The Holiday is my favorite.

  • The Dressmaker is a good one for us!

  • Titanic – can watch millions of times
The Reader-can watch only once. I never thought about it before, but you’re so right about her playing roles of complicated women!

  • Mare of Easttown – extraordinary!

  • Not necessarily my favorite, but a small and brilliant movie, often overlooked: Carnage

  • Mare of Easttown but I also love The Titanic.

  • Loved them all. The holiday was a sweet watch.

  • Titanic is a classic Kate Winslet movie and the Holiday is always great to watch

  • I know it’s cheesy but Titanic – hands down!

  • The Reader! No, wait! The Dressmaker! No! No!! The Holiday!

  • Unfortunately”The uploader has not made this video avaiable in your country”

  • The dressmaker

  • Have any of you watched Revolutionary Road? The movie is based on the book, and stars both Kate and Leonardo Dicaprio as a married couple, long before Titanic. The acting is extraordinary. But then yes, The Holiday makes me so happy to watch!

  • I LOVED Mare of Easttown. But as for movies I enjoyed The Holiday very much.

  • Mare of Easttown

  • Sense and Sensibility…and Mare of Easttown. Talk about different roles! ☺️

  • Your are right, Kate Winslet has such talent! I liked The Dressmaker, The Holiday and The Reader. What a range!

  • Mare of Easttown, but she has so many. The Dressmaker and The Holiday are perfect for whatever mood you are in.

  • Revolutionary Road. The 1950’s-the decade into which I was born-was a principal character of this film. Kate Winslet’s quiet desperation was a powerful statement that the era was not a respite for everyone.

  • I KNEW you were going to say Mildred Pierce – I love her in that series and I completely fell in love with the California depicted on screen. I loved it so much I went to the library and checked out the novel and promptly read it. There are some differences between the film and book that are quite significant and make for a great knitting circle discussion!!

  • Loved Mare of Easttown!

  • I’m going to have to start binge watching Kate Winslet movies. The only one I’ve seen is Titanic.

  • Mare of Eastwood!

  • The Reader is one of my favs.

  • Titanic is my favorite.

  • The Holiday. Unless a series counts, in which case definitely Mare of Easttown

  • Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and of course, Sense and Sensibility

  • I’ll add my vote for Sense and Sensibility.

  • Well, Sense and Sensibility.

  • Mare of East town

  • Not much of a movie buff, so I don’t really have a favorite. BUT…I love the color green, and trying new yarns

  • I LOVED Mare of Easttown.

  • Heavenly Creatures!!! Her first movie!!!

  • Mare of Eastham!

  • Several movies are up there as favorites- but Revolutionary Road and the Holiday are great

  • The Reader!

  • Titanic! Wasn’t aware of Mildred Pierece…is this a remake of the old Joan Crawford classic?

  • Mare of Easttown!

  • The Dressmaker. I have fallen in love with this movie.

  • Mare of Easttown

  • The only one I’ve seen is Titanic. From reading all the comments, it seems I have some catching up to do.

  • Titanic!

  • The Reader

  • Mare of Easttown-a woman wrestling with her job and being the glue holding her family together. The accent is fun too.

  • My favorite Kate Winslet movie was A Kid in King Arthur’s Court. She played a fiery teenager with complex ambitions she was willing to defend.

  • Mare of Easttown

  • I do love The Holiday.

  • The holiday

  • I love everything she’s in but Sense & Sensibility will always be tops!

  • Mare of Eastown! Loved this series! Kate Winslet——an amazing actress!!

  • So hard to choose, because I think Kate Winslet is wonderful … but she and Christopher Eccleston were both brilliant and heartbreaking in Jude.

  • Titanic – but I haven’t seen many of the ones listed! Will have some catching up to do

  • Mare of eastown

  • What does it mean that my favorite movie role might be Iris in The Holiday but my favorite tv role is Mare of Easttown? She really is an amazing actress.

  • Sure feels like it is whatever I saw most recently. Mare of Easttown. Murder durder!!!

  • Love watching The Holiday as a warm-up to Love Actually during the holidays.

  • The Holiday because I love the relationship she develops with Eli Wallach.

  • Mare of East town

  • Mare of Eastown—technically not a movie. Kate is great and so is Jean Smart!

  • I liked The Dressmaker

  • Reservation Road

  • I loved Mare of Easttown!

  • ‘Sense and Sensibility’ …. but also ‘A Little Chaos,’ again w the late, great Alan Rickman. Though ‘The Dressmaker’ was fun, and ‘Contagion’ hit close to home in 2020.

  • i don’t watch many movies, but i have seen Kate Winslet in both Sense and sensibility, and in The holiday – two favourites!

  • Titanic. So over the top in the most glorious way!

  • I love Kate Winslet! Thank you for reminding me of that series. Plan to watch. ( I’m always late in knowing, ha)

  • Sense and Sensibility

  • The Dressmaker or Heavenly Creatures

  • It seems the only movie of hers I’ve seen is Titanic. So that is it.

  • Titanic

  • The Titanic. It was frightening to watch but is still my favorite.

  • Titanic…

  • I love anything Kate Winslet does, but I would have to choose The Dressmaker as my favorite

  • Mare of East Town

  • So many good ones but Sense and Sensibility for the win!

  • Yes, I don’t want to have to choose just one . . . Eternal Sunshine ranks high . . . but if you force my back to the wall, I have to say: Marianne, in Sense and Sensibility. First movie of hers I ever saw, and when she first came on the screen, my bf and I said “That’s Marianne!” She *was* the character from the first moment, before she even spoke a word.

  • The Dressmaker!

  • The Holiday, because I love a good happy ending 🙂

  • Sense and Sensibility

  • Mare of Eastown was so good. Such a complex character just as you describe.

  • Sense and Sensibility. But I still love Titanic too!

  • Mare of Easttown

  • Mare of Eastwood. She was amazing in Heavenly Creatures but it was a difficult film to watch.

  • The Holiday was charming. I need to work on most of the rest of her body of work.

  • Mare of Easttown

  • It’s a tie between The Dressmaker and Mare of Easttown. I’ve watched them both again and again and never get tired of her performance.

  • The Holiday.

  • I loved the Mildred pierce series. Sense and sensibility is my favorite.

  • Can there be any doubt? Sense and Sensibility!

  • Mare of Eastown

  • Sense and Sensibility and The Reader

  • Thank you for this question. I wasn’t aware of all the Kate movies I missed. Ask again after I watch all of these.

  • Hate to admit it, but Titanic…

  • The Reader

  • Totally sappy, but I do like her in The Holiday.

  • Loved Mare of Eastown

  • Revolutionary Road

  • Finding Neverland

  • The Dressmaker

  • Wow ! I hade no idea she made so made movies! It looks like the only one I’ve watched is Titanic, so I guess that is my current favorite

  • Sense and Sensibility

  • Sense and sensibility

  • The Reader? Mare of Easttown? Tough choice!

  • Sense and Sensibility

  • Silly as it sounds, my fav is still Sense & Sensibility. Things are so fraught right now that I need the quieter films.

  • Heavenly Creatures. Disturbing movie with an incredible performance. And I have to mention how good Melanie Lynskey is, too.

  • Hmmm. If it has to be a movie, maybe Neverland. But I really enjoyed Mildred Pierce and Mare of East Town.

  • Sense and Sensibility is wonderful Kate Winslet, and many other actors that I love to see as well.

    • The Dressmaker is so good!

  • Titanic! If only for this interview with Stephen Colbert. Watch it to the end. https://youtu.be/nLgxSXoQE0k

  • I loved her in Sense and Sensibility.

  • Oh my. So many good ones. I do love Mildred Pierce and of course Titanic but there is a series I believe its in HBO Mare of Eastwood I think. She’s fantastic in it!! I was hoping they would come out with a second season but haven’t seen anything about it. Check it out

  • The Holiday

  • The Dressmaker.

  • So many good bed but my all time favourite has to be “The Holiday”. My friends and I get together every year to watch it

  • Titanic

  • Movie name escapes me but the teenaged s d friend murder her mother. It’s based on a true story

  • Definitely Sense and Sensibility!

  • Sense and Sensibility

  • I know it’s cheesy, but I love The Holiday!

  • Sense and Sensability!

  • Sense and Sensibility – KW is one of many stars all shining in a Jane Austen plot. So wonderful!

  • I loved her in Sense and Sensibility! Thanks for the list too!

  • “The Reader”. The subtlety, the pathos. Winslet is riveting even though everyone in it is beyond excellent. No one in it escapes moral culpability of some sort.

  • Winslet is a rock star, so many roles, just watched the Reader, and Revolutionary Road not long ago! Thanks for the list and the chance to enter.

  • Mare of Easttown

  • Has to be Titanic

  • Titanic!

  • I love The Holiday!

  • Mare of Eastown

  • Considering Lethal Weapon and Die Hard are my go-to Christmas movies, I was ver pleasantly surprised by The Holiday. The scenes with Kate Winslet and Eli Wallach were brilliant. I would say that is my favourite of her movies but I think her best role so far was Mare of Easttown.

  • Labor Day is a movie I enjoy.

  • sense and Sensibility and Titanic but now I want to see the cartoon Mary and the Witches flower

  • All that comes to mind right now is Titanic? It was the first PG-13 movie my parents let me watch without them screening it first (because we all went to see it in theatre.) As a headstrong preteen then, her character resonated with me so strongly. (Also had a mega crush on Leo at the time!) As a still headstrong woman now, her character still resonates with me! Sometimes you have to “give up” what others think is the good life or the easy life, for the life that makes you feel alive! So glad Rose did, and so glad I did, too!

  • Always the last thing watched. Right now it’s The Dressmaker.

  • From my limited viewing, I nominate “The Holiday.”

  • Mare of Easttown and Sense and Sensibility are up there. But she was also in this movie with Alan Rickman called A Little Chaos…the gardening! Her clothes!

  • The Holiday!

  • The Holiday. Can never resist it.

  • I loved The Dressmaker. And the colorful dresses she made against the barren landscape were wonderful!!!

  • The Dressmaker!

  • The Dressmaker, so deliciously dark. Added bonus of Sarah Snook (Succession) and Judy Davis in excellent supporting roles. PS – the book it’s based on is great too.

  • Sense and Sensibility.

  • Mare of Easttown was a great miniseries. Loved her in Sense & Sensibility.

  • The Holiday. Just fun

  • The Mountain between us

  • The Holiday. Gumption!

  • So HARD to choose! Sense & Sensibility, The Holiday, Revolutionary Road, Titanic (of course)…I have loved her in everything she has been in…even her voice acting (Flushed Away, Avatar: The Way of Water)! She is versatile, believable and beautiful!

  • Sense and Sensibility

  • Mare of Eastown, but hard to choose!

  • Sense & Sensibility— it gets me every time!

  • Titanic

  • I was going to say Titanic, but reading through other comments I remembered how much I loved The Holiday.

  • The Reader

  • The Reader but so many good ones!

  • She’s been in a lot of great movies, but I’m going to go with Heavenly Creatures. When I saw it in college, it felt like something so different and fresh and haunting. It was also about the kind of intense female friendship I’d never had (and made me glad I hadn’t).

  • Mare of Eastown❤️

  • Of the ones I’ve seen, Finding Neverland.

  • sense and sensibility!

  • Heavenly Creatures! An early role that showed her promise as an actor.

  • Titanic

  • Revolutionary Road was fantastic. It was great to see Kate and Leo together again and I loved the story.

  • Ammonite. I love stories about women pushing their way into the scientific world because they were 100X smarter and more competent than all the men and they knew it.

  • Finding Neverland was lovely. I’ve never seen Titanic. Looks like a fun list to work through! Lots I haven’t seen.

  • I love her character in The Holiday and the ending is sooo nice.

  • Not a movie, but LOVE “Mare of Easttown”

  • My go to feel good movie: The Holiday.

  • Sense & Sensibility. The whole cast is great and featuring authentically wrinkled Regency outfits!

  • Sense and Sensibility is a favorite.

  • The Holiday

  • Titanic!

  • Titanic

  • Titanic hands down

  • Sense and Sensibility…She was just as I pictured Miss Marianne Dashwood would be like when I read the book!

  • A Little Chaos (also Enigma).

  • Mare of Easttown. Great knitting to this.

  • Favorite Kate Winslet movie has to be the Titanic. My relative went down on it.

  • Sense and Sensibility, though Heavenly Creatures would be a close second.

  • The dressmaker

  • Loved her in The Dressmaker. That was a fun film. And sense and sensibility!

  • Too many good ones. The Holiday!

  • Little children

  • Sense and Sensibility!

  • Titanic!

  • A Little Chaos, beautiful movie.

  • Mare of Eastown for sure, but also loved her in Eternal Sunshine!

  • Titanic

  • The Dressmaker

  • Young, romantic me loves Titanic… but more mature me chooses Mare of Easttown. Technically not a movie, I know, but it’s still wonderful.

  • I’m not a big movie watcher, but looking at the list of films she stars in brings out several I’ve seen. On the list, Avatar.

  • The Reader and Marr of Easttown are two of my favorite works by Kate Winslet.

  • I join the Sense and Sensibility group.

  • My favourite Kate Winslet movie…? Wow, tough question, not because I have so many, but because I seem ot have seen so few. For SURE my fave is NOT Titanic! Kate may hve been the best part of that movie but YEE gawds was that script AWFUL! I loved Avatar, but KAte wasn’t in the original… I guess I’ve gotta go with Finding Neverland, despite Jonny Depp.

  • Sense and Sensibility. That whole movie is perfect.

  • Sense and Sensibility

  • The Reader is my favorite, so surprising.

  • The Holiday

  • Titanic

  • I wonder why this trailer can not be watched in my country? That’s what it says.

  • My favorite Kate Winslet movie is ” Titanic “. She embodied inner female marriage conflict very well.

  • My fave is still Sense and Sensibility, but I think I could watch Ƙate in anything.

  • The first movie I saw her in…SEnse and Sensibility.

  • Sense & Sensibility hands down. I just love Kate Winslet as Marianne Dashwood. But she was also awesome in Mare of Easttown

  • Titanic

  • I like The Reader

  • The Dressmaker

  • Sense and Sensibility is one of my favorite movies of all time.

  • Dare I say titanic. It just holds up so well!

  • The holiday

  • The Dressmaker. Vicious comedy and fabulous frocks- ideal!

  • Iris —but I’ve not seen all her work. Will be working my way through the list of her films over the coming months.

  • Mare of East Town, hands down!

  • My favourite Kate Winslet movie has to be Sense and Sensibility! There are so many of my favourite actors so early in their careers in that movie 🙂

  • The Holiday

  • Titanic

  • I’ve seen her in Titanic and Finding Neverland. Loved her strong spirit in Titanic. I will check out your list to watch and enjoy knitting and watching new roles she plays.

  • The Dressmaker

  • I loved The Dressmaker. She was beautiful and smart and cunning in her ability right some wrongs that happened in her small town

  • Hard to choose, but she’s great in Mare of Easttown!

  • Titanic!

  • The Holiday is my favorite.

  • Titanic… wonderful actress.

  • Oh Titanic!

  • Titanic since it was the first move I saw with Kate Winslet in it.

  • Titanic – watched several times, so it must be

  • The Holiday is a classic, but Dressmaker was fantastically bizarre

  • Mare of Easttown

  • Mare of Easttown!

  • Titanic

  • Since you mention Mildred Pierce, I am guessin another miniseries – Mare of Easttown – is fair game? Anyone who can nail a tricky regional accent gets my attention!

  • The Dressmaker

  • Revolutionary Road

  • Sense and sensibility

  • Sense and Sensibility!!!

  • Two very different films- Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Beautiful Creatures.

  • I did like her in Mare of Easttown. Looks like we have some movies to watch. Lol

  • Dressmaker

  • The Holiday! Love this movie.

  • Contagion (2011). I could watch her in anything though. I haven’t seen Mildred Pierce but I’m going to after reading Ann’s recommendation!

  • Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Sooo very good

  • Humm… Kate is really talented such a list of diverse roles. My fav of her right now is The Mare of Eastown.

  • The Dressmaker is a favorite KW movie for me.

  • Sense and Sensibility

  • So many good ones, but I’m a sucker for a good holiday movie, so I choose “The Holiday.”

  • The Holiday!

  • My favorite Kate Winslet movie/series (so far) is Mare of Easttown, (Mare Sheehan, an office police investigator in a small Pennsylvania town, investigates a brutal murder as she tries to keep her life from falling apart) She was amazing and really nailed the accent. But I would watch her do anything.

  • My favorite, Titanic. It is a classic and she was perfect for the part.

  • Titanic

  • Sense and Sensibility is definitely my favorite. I have three go-to knitting movies when I want to sink into a day of knitting – Persuasion, Sense and Sensibility and Enchanted April. Hmmm…maybe I need to send my Hubble out with his fishing rod so I can watch them uninterrupted!

  • The Holiday is a great movie.

  • The Reader

  • Sense and Sensibility!! I’ve knitted to it multiple times.

  • The Dressmaker and Mare of Easttown

  • Titanic. She is an amazing actress!

  • Sense and Sensibility.

  • Sense and Sensibility

  • The Dressmaker

  • Avatar

  • Finding Neverland!

  • The Dressmaker for sure

  • Titantic!
Mostly as it was first introduction to the amazing Kate Winslet!

  • Finding Neverland – but they all are so good.

  • I really enjoyed the Dressmaker.

  • titanic

  • Titanic

  • Mare of Eastown!

  • Mare of East town

  • Titanic

  • Titanic!

  • The Holiday! She was brilliant.

  • The Dressmaker. So good.

  • Love her character in The Holiday and her relationship with the sweet neighbor!

  • Heavenly Creatures. Or Sense and Sensibility. Or…

  • I don’t think I’ve ever actually watched a Kate Winslet movie.

  • Should you wish to laugh your butts off (but, be warned, you will never view Kate the same way again. You have been warned!), “Extras” was a TV series that Ricky Gervais did. Kate Winslet (and a whole bunch of other really funny people) guest starred on the show. Kate Winslet was so raunchy and funny. And, Patrick Stewart. Oh. My. Goodness. Tears were rolling. The show is very naughty

  • Definitely Titanic…watched it while waiting for my first baby to arrive

  • The Mountain Between Us and Revolutionary Road are my favorites.

  • I loved her in A Little Chaos, and Mare of Eastown.

  • The Dressmaker

  • Titanic.

  • Sense and Sensibility for me!

  • Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind…love the movie, cast, and soundtrack!

  • Sense and sensibility!!

  • revolutionary road and the Reader, but looking forward to watching Mare of Easttown

  • Titanic

  • The Dressmaker

  • Sense and Sensibility. Perfect!

  • Sense and Sensibility

  • I love Sense and Sensibility! I always drop a few tears at the end!

  • Hard to choose, but The Dressmaker is right up there.

  • Sense and Sensibility

  • Mare!

  • The Holiday

  • I’m just realizing that I’ve not seen as many of her films/shows as I thought I’d had! That said, my immediate choice is “The Holiday”. (And I really want to find an outlet available to me to stream “Mare of Easttown.”)

  • Ahh, Kate! I’m going with Sense and Sensibility. Have a lovely weekend!

  • I so loved Finding Neverland. Love a spin on a classic tale.

  • Titanic

  • I really don’t go to movies so the only thing I’ve seen her in is Titanic.

  • I love her too but my favorite is a series – Mare of Easttown. She was awesome!

  • Titanic, for sure.

  • Sense and Sensibility

  • Finding Neverland is my favorite with Kate W.

  • Sense and Sensibility

  • The Dressmaker!!

  • Revolutionary Road!

  • The Reader

  • Sense and Sensibility

  • A Little Chaos

  • Sense and Sensibility

  • I loved the movie “Iris” about Iris Murdoch and… I never saw “Titanic” (I’m probably the only one who hasn’t.)

  • Gotta go with the original Kate for me – Sense and Sensibility ♡

  • I love “The Holiday” Kate is so energetic plus attentive to people she meets in LA!

  • cannot have a fave….. they are so special

  • Titanic

  • Titanic!!!

  • The Dressmaker!

  • The Holiday

  • it’s just gotta be Titanic…

  • Titanic

  • Divergent and Insurgent were she is devoid of any humanity, devious, nasty, cold, arrogant, and thoroughly rotten.

  • The Dressmaker

  • Mare of Easttown and The Holiday

  • Hideous Kinky

  • The Holiday

  • Titanic, for sure

  • The Dressmaker

  • I love Sense and Sensibility but would also like to mention Mare of Easttown!

  • Titanic

  • Titanic

  • Titanic.

  • She’s amazing in Titanic, but now I need to look into her other movies

  • Avatar, Divergent, and The Holiday are the ones that speak to me the loudest. Notice a trend: they all get away to a different place? Which is weird, because except for my medical challenges, I do love my life!

  • Titanic!

  • The Holiday.

  • Titanic – has become a modern classic!

  • Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I love sci-fi and indie dramas. It’s weird and neat and has stunning cinematography.

  • Dressmaker but I still have to watch Mildred Pierce

  • Have to choose “The Dressmaker”

  • Sense and Sensibility is just shy of perfect.

  • “The Holiday”–because of Jude Law, not Kate Wnslet!

  • Titanic

  • The HOLIDAY , all time favorite

  • Sense and Sensibility

  • So many great ones but foots go for “Sense and Sensibility”!

  • Revolutionary Road. She plays opposite Leonardo DiCaprio and it’s interestingly to watch how good they still are together many years after the Titanic.

  • The Holiday. Kate Winslet is marvelous in all her films, though. But The Holiday really sticks in my mind. What it is to be profoundly hurt, then gradually healed, that’s a moment that speaks to the human experience.

  • Sense and Sensibility, hands down.

  • Mildred Pierce

  • Finding Neverland

  • Hmmmm. It’s a tie between Finding Neverland and The Holiday

  • Mare of Easttown

  • The holiday!

  • She is amazing! I started with Titanic.

  • OOh! I’d forgotten the Dressmaker! Brilliant…

  • Mare of Eastown is not a movie, but it’s a great piece of acting!

  • Mare of Easttown

  • Titantic!

  • Sense and Sensibility!

  • Sense and Sensibility

  • Mare of Easttown

  • favorite has to be titanic. I think she showed a depth in her characterization without tending to the inevitable outcome.

  • Kate in “Quills”

  • The Reader.

  • Revolutionary Road

  • So many to choose from but I’m most likely to re-watch Sense and Sensibility

  • The Holiday

  • Holiday a favorite. Tough choice — so many excellent performances.

  • I really liked her in Enigma.

  • Titanic! I still hide my eyes when the ship goes down but I love how feisty she is!

  • The Dressmaker

  • Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

  • The one she’s making next.

  • Titanic. But that’s also the only one of her movies I remember!

  • Titanic
