Dear friends of Jane, fans of Jane, Jane enthusiasts,

We did it.

Our very own yarn, Jane, is now twice as colorful.

We just received our first shipment of eleven new colors of the yarn that has been described as a scrumptrelescent ode to Britishness.

Please say hello to Frost, Lilac, Caladium, Clay, Earth, Vista, Celeste (which Kay will call Navy from now to the end of time), Pathos, Sage, Pampas, and Citronelle.

Here’s the full palette of 22 colors. We believe, after endless scooting around of skeins on the MDK craft table, that there are 4,194,304 combinations possible for these lovely colors.

In fact, the palette has been designed so that there are only pleasing combinations. See? All these Jane colors are good friends. You cannot go wrong. Amazing!

To recap: Jane is a DK-weight yarn, spun and dyed in Yorkshire, England. It’s a blend of 75% Falklands merino and 25% Masham, a fiber that has a lovely taupey gray cast to it. This gives all the colors a depth and richness that we think is, as they say, smashing.

These new colors mean you have the opportunity to take an entirely new spin through our MDK Jane lookbook, where we have knitted up a bunch of very popular patterns and provided Jane skein counts for each pattern. Now that we have 4,194,304 possible combinations for you, this becomes an even more tantalizing way to ditch work and dream a little.

And remember! MDK Society members save 10% of Jane, all year long. Just use your member coupon code at checkout.

We have exactly two MDK-exclusive yarns, Atlas and Jane. Developing new colors is a slow and challenging process, but the best sort of fun. It’s a massive thrill for us to bring you these 11 new colors, so we hope you have a great time with this new palette.

Love,

Ann and Kay

  • Beautiful, but knitting with Pathos might make me sad!

    • Ha! Then it is a good thing that appears to be a typo…the look book shows the color to be Pothos, as in the plant!

  • Congratulations on the new additions!
(Pssst: Maybe it’s because I’ve been up since 3, but now at 7:21 I only see 18 skeins in the “here’s the full palette of 22 colors” picture.)

    • Check up at the top to scroll through all the colors.

  • My first-time Jane order arrived yesterday. I can’t wait to get started on my Copenhagen Cowl (which, how about that, was already in my pattern library!) I’m using Cameo and Pathos. ❤️
    Beautiful colors! Good job!

  • Your friendly proofreader here again. In today’s column in the photo of the new colors you call that wonderful color to the right of “navy” (you’re welcome, Kay) “Pathos”, but in the Jane Lookbook it is referred to as “Pothos”. As always, just trying to help. Besides, I want to make sure my order is correct!

  • Gorgeous colors!!
