Jeanette Sloan dazzled us with her modern lace. These patterns are a showcase for her understanding of how to use openwork patterns to surprising effect.
Mood Cardigan
A bit of wizardry: this is simply two rectangles, joined to create a sculptural cocoon that you can wear two ways: with the ribbing at the bottom or at the top. A hug of a cardigan.

Clerestory Shawl
This trapezoid of lace can be worked in two weights, light fingering or worsted. The tumbling blocks lace is a gorgeous pattern to work.

Kaffe Fassett led us all down the garden path of intarsia, where knitters discovered that intarsia is a simple technique with limitless possibilities.

One of Kaffe’s favorite motifs is the square. Here the squares shift in color and size—an easy gateway project if you are new to intarsia.

What an absolutely fun week. I have to say that MDK and the knittting community has been a light at the end of a long dark tunnel
I made the Twining Wrap. It’s a wonderful pattern. I still have my eye on Jeannette Sloans lace but lace and I don’t get along. Give me cables anyday. 🙂
My faves in there. Guide 13 got me through 2020. My home is so color filled today.

While I miss the madness bracket, I love that there are no losers in the pattern party format. I have learned about new designers and patterns this week (Lori Versace’s 10 is calling my name. I’m thinking of doing a super squishy version in my Windham Mini skeins), and been reminded of patterns I really must knit. (Transom, I’m looking at you!)
