Specs & Details
The mesmerizing experience of knitting Freia is one of our favorite things. Now, with the arrival of Field Guide No. 19: Marls, knitting with two strands of Freia Ombré Merino Lace takes us to a whole new level of fascinating color play.
What two colors should you choose for your Marlogram?
We have spent delicious hours choosing Freia combinations—trying to guess what will happen when we combine, say, Coho and Vertigo. Turns out, after knitting a bunch of Freia combinations, pretty much any two colors will sing when knitted in this design. And the more exuberant the colors, the more fun it gets. The way Cecelia’s Marlogram pattern works, colors are broken up into pixels, basically. So a wild color like Dahlia will calm down when worked with a quieter shade.
This version of the Marlogram Scarf uses two cakes of the same color, Blue Velvet. (Note that every cake we sell has the full length of color play; they’re just wound sometimes with a color beginning in the middle, or beginning on the outside.)

The Marlogram Cowl shown here uses 1 cake Dahlia, 1 cake Woodsman.

All the beautiful yarn you can handle, plus some.
