Blanket of Joy
By Kay Gardiner and Ann Shayne
A bouncy blanket that celebrates the joy of easy knitting—and all 22 colors of our new yarn, Atlas. This is a PDF download pattern.
We are big believers that there is a knitting project for every mood. We always—always—have a simple project on the needles, for those times when we want to knit without a care.
The Blanket of Joy is exactly that kind of knitting. Kay cooked up the basic recipe for this striped throw at a time when none of the projects on her needles qualified as “Zoom meeting knitting.”
The Blanket of Joy is relaxation knitting at its finest. Panels of stockinette and reverse stockinette switch back and forth in an intuitive, undulating rhythm that soothes the soul.
Easy can also be exciting! Striping your way through all 22 shades of MDK’s very own yarn, Atlas, is an ever-changing delight. You can’t wait to get to the next color. With each stripe, the visual composition changes, and comes into focus.
The Blanket of Joy is a wonderful way to get to know a new yarn that we hope will become a friend for life. We’re enormously proud of Atlas, MDK’s first yarn. Atlas is a light worsted-weight, 100% Rambouillet wool yarn that is grown, spun and dyed in the United States. Read all about it here.
