Dear Knitter,

Happy Saturday!

Need a break? How about a custom retreat, at your own sweet home? We’re overjoyed to announce a new virtual workshop from beloved MDK self-care columnist Max Daniels.

It’s called Retreat at Home.

If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to go on a retreat, to set aside time to escape your routine and focus on your health, dreams, or projects, but gotten stalled by timing and travel, Max has a wonderful solution: creating your own thoughtful retreat, at home.

In this 90-minute talk on March 20, Max Daniels will guide us in designing and planning our own at-home retreats. You will leave this class with a helpful handout and tips, well on your way to creating a tailor-made retreat within your own home. You’ll also have a great time—Max is a delight.

You’ll find more details on the sign-up page here.

MDK Society members: as always, punch in your membership coupon code at checkout to save 10 percent on this workshop.

Meanwhile…

We had a big time on MDK this week.

What a lark! Clara Parkes is the author of MDK’s first-ever mystery serial: the adventures of Miss Clarice Clarple, fiber sleuth. Read the first installment of Swapped Skeins here. The next installment comes out tomorrow, and there will be a giveaway!

Use your words! Rüdiger Schlömer helps us say what we need to say—in knitting.

What are your actual favorite knits? Dana Williams-Johnson shares a real good one.

A village of makers, smack in the middle of Times Square: Ann remembers our whirl of a weekend at this year’s Knitting Live festival.

Straight from Sarah Ross’s pantry shelf: the truth about tinned fish.

Your Support Is Everything—Thank You!

Every day, we see readers engaging with each other on MDK, and with the writers who bring us their expertise and point of view. It makes our day to see these connections happening. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your interest in what’s going on here at MDK.

Questions? Email us anytime at he***@*****************ng.com, and you’ll get a prompt response from a real live MDK person.

Stay healthy, take care of each other, and knit on.

Love,

Ann and Kay
