Dear knitter,

Happy Saturday!

Big plans are in the works for Nash Yarn Fest, our two-day celebration of fiber and community in Nashville on April 17 and 18.

Are you going to be at home on Saturday, April 18? Guess what—Nash Yarn Fest is coming to you.

Live from the Fairgrounds in Nashville, it’s a professionally produced livestream from the Lecture Stage of the biggest gathering we’ve ever created.

The delightful Samantha Brunson will be your host for the day, bringing you a full day of Nash Yarn Fest. You’ll enjoy live talks from people we admire so much: Natalie Chanin, Franklin Habit, Jeni Hankins—plus Patty Lyons and Jeanette Sloan!

Between the talks, Samantha will be roaming the event, visiting with the wonderful artisans and vendors who are coming from all over the country to Nash Yarn Fest.

We hope you’ll join us, wherever you are, for this special day. Tickets are $35, and MDK Society members save 10% with your member coupon code at checkout. Sign up here.

Meanwhile…

We had a big time on MDK this week.

Join us! Max Daniels delves into the idea of getting away from it all. What would your ideal retreat look like? Max’s upcoming virtual workshop on March 20 will help you plan your own retreat at home.

Growing up surrounded by Kente cloth, mudcloth, and quilts made with African fabrics, Jeania Ree Moore scouts stunning knit designs inspired by their aesthetic traditions.

Yes, you can try it on! In the second post in her series on seamed garments, Kate Atherley reveals how to avoid fit surprises when you knit a garment in pieces.

Reporting in from our epic Bang Out a Sweater knitalong, Kay did battle with the short rows at the start of the Waffle Pullover. Who won? And how’s Bang Out going for you?

The Plot Thickens

The plot thickens…er, felts! Clara Parkes is the author of MDK’s first-ever mystery serial: the adventures of Miss Clarice Clarple, fiber sleuth. Chapter 2 of Swapped Skeins is out, and it’s a doozy; read it here. Chapter 3 arrives tomorrow, and there will be a giveaway!

Catch up with Clarple: Read Chapter 1 here.

Everybody Getting Together—Thank You!

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your interest in what’s going on here at MDK.

Questions? Email us anytime at he***@*****************ng.com, and you’ll get a prompt response from a real live MDK person.

Stay healthy, take care of each other, and knit on.

Love,

Ann and Kay
