LÉTTLOPI MEETS CROWBERRY

It’s an exciting time at MDK: we’re days away from our favorite group-knitting tradition: Bang Out a Sweater.

There’s even an option to change yarns. The designer’s choice—holding together a strand of Plotulopi and laceweight Love Story Einband—makes for a sumptuous fabric. But we couldn’t help noticing that our favorite budget-friendly Icelandic yarn Léttlopi would make a fine substitute.

With Léttlopi, we can get Icelandic character, beautiful color, and a light, lofty fabric—with a single strand of yarn.

So, if you’ve been tempted to bang out a Crowberry with us, we direct your attention to these sweet Léttlopi colorways. Think of it as a dessert menu—there’s no harm in looking.

Find all the details for making the Crowberry Sweater with Léttlopi right here.

It’s a Love Story

The Love Story Shawl is a canvas for playing with color. The yarn, Love Story Einband, draws its glorious palette from the Icelandic landscape. We love cooking up colorways—here are 9 ideas for you:

  • Bought some Love Story just to “have” despite being notoriously bad at skinny, skinny yarn. Am enjoying imagining all your colorways and how my skeins actually fit into one of them! A lovely meditation. I have been known to print out your color “chips” page of Felted Tweed, cut them out and play around with them. Some little paper rectangles are still sprinkled throughout my stash. A few more skein purchases here and there and a garment (or accessory) may emerge. Lately 10-year old whacks of a favorite stash yarn have suddenly found a perfect pattern match. So there is a high likelihood for my “have to have” Love Story. There is inspiration everywhere.

  • I love the new color ways in Love Story, as the sample bundle is not available for wont of a Viking Rust….but after drooling over all the choices in Snippets and finally making a decision, so many colors are sold out! Please, please —any idea as to when you will restock? Thanks.

    • Two big boxes should be at Atlas on Monday. Fingers crossed!
