Dear Knitter,

Welcome to your Saturday!

It’s that wonderful time of year when the Knit Stars earlybird window is open. Season 9 of Knit Stars is incredible, and we’re thrilled to share it with you.

Take a look at the lineup.

It would take a knitter a lifetime—and many trains, planes, and automobiles—to get to the places all over the world where these teachers live and work. A chance to attend workshops with them, in beautifully produced video classes, in your own home and on your own schedule—it’s a dream come true. When you sign up for Season 9, you become an owner of those classes—they will always be available to you, whenever you want to watch or rewatch them.

As proud, loud Knit Stars alumnae ourselves (shout out to mighty Season 3), we’ve experienced firsthand the talent and care that goes into making these classes a world-class event for knitters.

Our affiliate link takes you to Season 9 for more information, and to register. The Knit Stars Earlybird Experience comes with juicy VIP benefits, including special pricing for a limited time.

And: you’ll have access to limited edition, Knit Stars-exclusive yarns and bags.

MDK earns a commission on purchases through our affiliate link.

Meanwhile…

We had a big time on MDK this week.

Please read this small post about a big thing. Nash Yarn Fest is the biggest, funnest thing we’ll ever do, and we can’t wait! There’s much more to come, so stay tuned.

Sometimes choosing a size is harder than knitting the dang sweater. Kate Atherley is here to help.

Terroir like you wouldn’t believe: in this month’s letter from Paris, Franklin Habit guides us just outside the city to take in the wooly delights of a hyper-local yarn festival.

One singular sensation: what Cristina Shiffman did for the Love Story Shawl.

Kay’s favorite holiday gets a new recipe, and a new log cabin blanket!

Support What You Love

At MDK, we have one job: making fun happen for knitters. Every morning, we bring the best writers, teachers, and knitting to you, free of charge and free of ads. This daily stream of humor, learning, and big-hearted community is only possible because of your purchases from the MDK Shop—thank you!

Questions? Email us anytime at hello@moderndailyknitting.com, and you’ll get a personal response from a real live MDK person.

Stay healthy, take care of each other, and knit on.

Love,

Ann and Kay

PS Please share this Snippets with a friend—we’d appreciate it so much.

Patty Lyons!

You’re going to want to be here for this. For the first time, Patty Lyons will be teaching a virtual class at MDK. She’s cooking up a special class just for us.

Patty’s classes are perpetually oversubscribed, and she plans to cover a ton of tricks—so get in on this beautiful opportunity. Register here for this May 10 funfest.

Reader Joan Gavigan puts it best: “I have been to a couple of Patty’s classes at VK Live in NYC. She is a fabulous teacher. You get your money’s worth because she stays on target and gets through a lot of material. By the time you finish the class you REALLY have learned something. The cost of this class is a steal, truly a steal. I’m signing on as soon as I can. 🙂

Patty Lyons’ Knitting Bag of Tricks

We can all stand to save as much of our sanity as possible—especially while doing one of favorite activities. In this powerful little volume author, designer, and educator extraordinaire Patty Lyons offers her top tips. These are the skills and insights that instantly make us better, cleverer knitters.

Nash Yarn Fest

We’ve done a thing—Nash Yarn Fest will be a time to celebrate everything we love about the knitting world. You’ll have the chance to learn, to shop, to be entertained. To make new friends and to reunite with dear ones.

We’ll start the fun on Friday night, March 14 and go all day on Saturday the 15th.

Classes are being created, entertainment is being booked, and vendors are signing on.

More than anything, Nash Yarn Fest is going to be a party for the ages. We do not rule out spontaneous dancing!

We’ll keep you posted on Nash Yarn Fest as it develops—subscribe to our Nash Yarn Fest newsletter right here for updates and announcements of classes and ticket sales.

Spring Cleaning

We’ve restocked a must-have in the MDK Tools Shop. Here’s Ann’s post on why this little gadget, the Lilly Brush, is a perfect de-piller. It just works.

And while you’re at it: gadgets and gizmos for your next knitting adventure.

Hats, Going Fast

Did you see? By popular demand, we’ve brought in a fresh batch of Knitter hats, in just the right summer blue. Dial up the style—get yours while they last.
