Would LOVE to buy the set of guides – but Ravelry paypal doesn’t have a “guest pay” option – insists you open an paypal account, which I don’t want to do. Any other way of getting this without giving all my data away? Am in the UK…

Yes I agree. I’d like to purchase the set too but ever since I did away with my PayPal account a few months ago I have not been able to purchase anything on Ravelry. If you click buy now it’ll bring up the option of PayPal or credit card but once you click credit card it’s only PayPal. Sad to miss out on these deals.
Update~ it appears one can now enter a credit card other than PayPal on rivalry
I don’t know if this will help, but I generally use ‘add to cart’ instead of ‘buy now’. I can then go right to checkout and paypal and credit cards are both options when I do that
Me, too! I also do not want a PayPal account. I have found that once in awhile there is an actual PayPal guest option that works, but it is random and infrequent. Most of the time I am forced into creating a PayPal account, but I refuse. And so, I miss many sales and I hardly purchase any patterns anymore.
You can pay on Ravelry with a credit card. Your payment will still be processed by Pay Pal, and I believe you can tell it not to remember your card number.
Yes exactly! I was confused by that too, seemingly paypal only, but it does charge your CC and PP is only for processing. It should be made more clear…
It insisted on me setting up a password and providing my date of birth. Sorry, nope, not providing my dob as it’s not remotely necessary for purchase of knitting patterns. “normally” with PP you get a ‘guest’ option which just takes payment from your card, but that wasn’t/isn’t available as an option.

I am anti-Paypal, as well.
Being anti-Paypal hurts only yourself. It has no effect on the company. It has, however, made it impossible for you to take advantage of MDK’s fabulous offer on their Field Guides as well as buying any of the astonishing patterns on Revelry.
Not anti-paypal, just anti giving away personal data when it’s not needed. With PP guest checkout, which isn’t offered, you don’t need to enter unnecessary personal data. As I don’t want that data out there, at risk of being scammed or hacked, not only do I miss out but so does MDK because they haven’t taken the profit on the sale.
My date of birth is NOT necessary for purchasing knitting patterns. Everyone’s a loser. This offer could be via direct purchase on CC from MDK, or MDK could ask Ravelry to offer guest PP options.

BTW, I hope folks read the comments; as Donna said, Ravelry charges your credit card, you don’t need paypal even though it seems that way, they just use paypal for processing, it confused me too at first but you can go ahead and it will charge your CC.
But you are still left with a PayPal account ,which even if you do not use it, they have your personal information.

I have gone to the Ravelry page, chosen a few I would like to purchase but I can’t figure out how to add to my cart. I have purchased MANY patterns on Ravelry but these are eluding me. Help!

I just ordered seven Field Guides to complete my collection. I got the sale price, but now I think they are ebook only. I really had expected the hard copies, and that is what I want. So I am disappointed not to have the cute little hard copy booklets to complete my collection.
I want to purchase the ebook of Field Guide 14 Refresh, but there is no Buy it Now link on its Ravelry page! The other Field Guides have Buy it Now, but not that one.

Since I can’t add the ones I am interested in to cart in any way and the issue isn’t fixed, I won’t be taking advantage of this. I will be traveling and don’t know if I’ll have time to get back to it. I will loose out on this sale and it will be a while before I consider purchasing again – not that I can since I can’t add this to cart. If someone from MDK is monitoring this, a fix is needed!

I don’t get these deals until after the deadlines. I am always disappointed to not be able to participate in the savings.
