Dear all,

Big doings!

A quick note that we’re going to open ticket sales for Nash Yarn Fest 2026 tomorrow.

April 17 and 18 may seem distant, but they are just around the corner, really.

We’re ridiculously excited about Nash Yarn Fest. It’s often said that anticipating an experience can be as potent a mood lifter as the experience itself—anticipation is a powerful source of joy.

I think that’s why everybody here at MDK is feeling such pre-joy about what we’re creating for next April. We keep laughing and thinking up new stuff to make this a fiber festival like no other.

Working with the 90+ makers who will be vending has already been great fun—you can see them all here, and we’re  spotlighting them on the Nash Yarn Fest Instagram.

The tickets will be for Friday and Saturday all day each day, as well as a Friday night Hootenanny that will be a brand-new party, in a spacious and separate space at the Fairgrounds, after the show floor closes. Music, dancing, hanging out with like-minded folks—this is a dream come true for us, and we look forward to sharing it all with you.

The gallery up top captures a fraction of the fun that happened last year.

NYF Getaway

If you’re a member of the MDK Society, you received an email last Wednesday, Sept. 17, giving you early access to registration for our special NYF Getaway group trip. We are going to open registration to the public tomorrow, so if you’re wanting to join this special trip led by Patti Odinak, today’s your best shot at getting a place—go dig out that email!

We have already received registrations for two-thirds of the spaces, so hop on this if you’re in the mood for a four-night group trip with curated, special events included.

Not a Society member? We’ll open registration tomorrow morning for any spaces that remain.

A Hotel for Knitters

For those coming on their own or with friends, we’ve been working with The Gilmore, a supercute, brand-new boutique hotel in 12 South. We have taken the unprecedented step of reserving the entire hotel for Nash Yarn Fest.

We are doing this because a) we think a hotel for knitters is what the world needs; b) we’ve negotiated a great rate with them for you; and c) 12 South is a great neighborhood to hang out in.

Reserving this entire hotel of 100 rooms required significant financial investment on our part—and we’re not making a dime on it. We’re making this bet in the interest of giving you an amazing experience at Nash Yarn Fest, so if you’re game, watch for reservation information about The Gilmore tomorrow. The idea was too fun not to go for it—if you agree, check it out!

Our hope is that you will immediately recognize the intense fun that comes from being in a knitter-rich environment, and help us fill this gorgeous little hotel with the greatest people on earth: we the knitters.

A Word of Encouragement

Last year, we had attendees from 40 states, Canada, and the UK. This year, we would like to welcome some Hawaiians, Alaskans, Mexicans, and Wyomingers. More than 2,500 folks attended last year, and we think that’s a good start. If you wish you’d attended last year, guess what: we’re doing it again!

Love,

Ann and Kay
