Dear knitter,
Happy Saturday!
It’s the dog daze of summer. Dogs in our hearts, on our sofas, hogging our fan—and on our needles. Dogcentric knitting is fun even if you don’t have a dog!
Coming up fast: next Friday, July 25, we’ll be learning how to make mini-me yoke sweaters for pups with the most joyful sweater knitter we know. Please join us for the Doggie Designs Virtual Workshop with Dana Williams-Johnson.
Next week, we’re throwing a free Doggie Hangout Zoom Party on Tuesday, July 22. Bring your pooch for an unprecedented virtual gathering—your dog wants to meet other dogs. There will be door prizes! Sign up here and we’ll send you the Zoom link on the day.
And! On Saturday, August 2, we’re hosting an in-person (and in-pup!) event at Nashville’s own Urban Dog Bar. All the details are here on the RSVP form. Ann and Kay will both be there, and we would love to see you.

We had a big time on MDK this week.
Long floats in colorwork have met their match, and it’s Amy Snell’s ultra-clear tutorial on ladderback jacquard.
Asked and answered: Patty Lyons is here with pretty solutions to the complications that cables bring to bindoffs and shoulder seams.
Look at Jillian Moreno’s amazing ideas for Ito Kinu. Bonus: explainer on What Is Silk Noil, anyway?
Adrienne Martini went to weaving camp, and all she got us was this fascinating report on weaving on antique looms.
Atlas Insider Emily Breedlove traces a long life of eclectic crafting through beautiful objects and mysterious materials.
Keep your viral knits—Kay will have what Judy Flores is having.
Your Support Is Everything—Thank You!
Seriously grateful that you hang out with us at MDK. In person, at virtual talks and workshops, and in our comments section—we love to connect knitters, and connect with knitters.
One way to support all that goes on here: the MDK Society. Your MDK Society membership will repay you in fun, connection, and community. (And 10% savings on classes and full-price stuff, plus special opportunities now in the works.)
Questions? Email us anytime at he***@*****************ng.com, and you’ll get a prompt response from a real live MDK person.
