Dear knitters,

There was a lot of excitement last week in Nashville, as the team ran around fluffing the cushions for this year’s Holiday Shop. Our hair was hardly ever on fire. OK, maybe it got a little smoky. But we did it!

All year long, we’ve had a blast searching out joymakers for you.

You know that feeling when you find something you really love—big or small, but special and a little surprising—and you get to bring it home? That’s how it feels when one of us comes across something exciting for the Holiday Shop—except we get to bring it in and show it to all of you.  There must be a long German word for this feeling!

A few themes came up again and again: home, nature, making by hand, simplicity. We’re finding joy in the small things, so that’s the focus this year. And yarn of course!

Have a look at the MDK Holiday Shop 2021 Lookbook here.

If you’d prefer to see it all at once, visit our One-Page Holiday Shop 2021.

You’ve no doubt heard about the supply chain and delivery issues in the world right now—they are real. If something strikes your fancy, avoid disappointment by ordering it now, as we are unlikely to be able restock before the holidays. As always, we thank you so much for your purchases, which make everything go around here.

It’s Party Time—Today!

This afternoon, at 4:00 p.m. Central, we cordially invite you to join us for a jolly Holiday Shop Zoom—Ann and Kay are both in Nashville for the occasion!

The dress code is knitwear, and it’s BYO mulled beverage. We’ll tell tales about the making of the Holiday Shop for this year, answer questions, and enjoy your company.

Here’s the Zoom link—hope to see you there!  The password (if needed) is STAR.

Love,

Ann and Kay

  • So much goodness! But please tell me that the window stars book is not sold out already?!? I see the papers, but not the book when I click on the link in the Holiday guide. Is is somewhere else?

    • The description with the pack of papers said directions to make an 8 pointed star are included.

      • Thanks! But in the initial catalog, there was a book of window star patterns also available for purchase. That is what I was referring to.

        • We were only able to get a limited number of the books, which sold out quickly. We’re looking for more!

  • I thought their new yarn would be available for the season by now.
Was looking forward to checking it out.

    • It’s on its way, but not as quickly as we’d hoped (those supply chain issues again). Look for it early in the new year. We’re excited!

      • Oh, of course. I should have thought of this. Darn it all!

  • The calendar tea towels went fast! I see more are coming… any way you can add a “Notify when available” button for these hot items? I missed out on the calendar last year and am loath to miss out again.

So many lovely things, y’all did a great job curating this wonderful collection.

  • ‘See’ everyone later!

  • Wonderful stuff. I tried to order the star folding book (and the paper) and there is a choice in the pull down menu for the paper but not for the book… help.
    Have a lovely day.

    • Hi Petra,

We’re out of the books but looking for more. The paper does come with instructions for the 8-pointed stars we show. The book features more elaborate stars.

      • thank you – and the paper alone will be lovely!!

  • The Revolution Basket is my favorite!

  • The folding star book is available on the wellknown online retailer. But only in the german version and the title “Zauberhafte Fenstersterne aus Seidenpapier”.
    cheers.
