Spud & Chloë Sweater

By Spud & Chloë

A blend of organic cotton and superwash wool, this is pretty much the peanut butter and chocolate of fiber combinations. The softness of cotton and the body of wool. Such a sweater this makes!

We’re loving it for Norah Gaughan’s Liberty Tree Pullover, from Mason-Dixon Knitting Field Guide No. 9: Revolution. It’s also perfect for the Sea Breeze Cowl-Poncho, from Mason-Dixon Knitting Field Guide No. 7: Ease.

This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

Something wonderful happens when wool meets cotton. The loft and body of wool combines with the cushiness of cotton. The resulting yarn makes the most of each fiber’s personality.

A tree makes for a beautiful cable pattern, ideal for Norah Gaughan’s Liberty Tree Pullover from Mason-Dixon Knitting Field Guide No. 9: Revolution. The cable’s branches intertwine, then fan out at the edge of the yoke, tipped in bobbles that are not too bobbly. They are just bobbly enough. We love Spud & Chloë Sweater for this timeless garment.

A Note on Yardage Requirements

The cardigan, pullover and capelet in Field Guide No. 9 are all knitted to the same gauge, and all three of the yarns used for those projects knit to that gauge, so it’s the knitter’s choice of yarn, depending on your preference for color and fabric.

Need help figuring out yardage requirements?  Start at the Ravelry page for Field Guide No. 9, and click through to the individual patterns for all the details on sizes, finished garment measurements, and yarn requirements.  (Of course, all this information is also in the Field Guide!)

Sweater is a delectably wearable yarn choice, especially for … sweaters. But it’s also perfect for the Sea Breeze Cowl-Poncho, Julia Farwell-Clay’s case study in negative and positive ease in the same garment. Choose from soothing, beachy neutrals and vibrant, juicy hues. The pattern can be found in Mason-Dixon Knitting Field Guide No. 7: Ease.
