Eddy Wrap Kit
Inspired by a photo of movie star Eddie Redmayne modeling a distinctive, scrappy sweater for a fashion design house, Julia Farwell-Clay became fascinated with how the stitch pattern worked. That fascination led to an article in our pages, and ultimately to this gorgeous shell-bordered wrap design. It begins with a classic (and easy-peasy) garter stitch triangle, which becomes the foundation for a whimsical border of short row shells that combine colors like a mosaic tile floor or a stained glass window.
Our yarn of choice is Berroco’s Ultra Alpaca, as much for its smooth hand, warmth, and luxurious drape as for its wide range of nuanced colors.
Julia has written the pattern. We’ve kitted it up. Now all you have to do is get your short row game on! Stay tuned for a tutorial from Julia. Knitting backwards, anyone?
Please note: the digital pattern is included in the purchase of the kit. (No printed pattern included, digital file only.) The Eddy Wrap pattern is also available separately as a digital download.

50% Peruvian Wool
We’ve been knitting with Berroco’s versatile Ultra Alpaca yarn for more than a decade. We sometimes refer to it as a workhorse yarn because it’s great yardage for the price, and a smart blend of 50% super fine alpaca and 50% wool. But in truth, it’s a luxury yarn, with beautiful drape and incredible depth of color. There aren’t many yarns that come in enough colors to put together three colorways for a 7-color design like the Eddy Wrap. But with Ultra Alpaca, we were spoiled for choice.
This kit contains 2 skeins of the main color and 1 skein each of 6 other colors for the glorious shell border of the Eddy Wrap.
