Easel Sweater Kit
Mohonk is a great sweater yarn. We chose it for Sue McCain’s Easel Sweater because it feels great (100% New York State Cormo!) and knits up in subtly shifting color that is rich, distinctive, and possible only when yarn is dyed by hand.
We are enraptured by the yarns that Jill Draper is making these days: interesting fibers, artful colorways, and the saturated shades that take a special eye to get just right.
Please note: pattern not included. The Easel Sweater pattern for this kit is in Mason-Dixon Knitting Field Guide No. 3, available in both digital and print versions. Be sure to add a copy of Field Guide No. 3 to your basket at checkout!

The day Jill Draper’s Mohonk arrived at MDK World Headquarters, we didn’t have the most productive afternoon, to be honest. We spent a while poking through the mounds of hand-dyed color, surprised at the unique character of each skein. Some were darker; others were lighter. We have created kits that make the most of this vibrant yarn, and we think you will love it as much as we do.
The Easel Sweater has two colors: the solid body and the crazy arm part. We weren’t sure how exactly Jill would handle our request for this combination of subtle and wild.
“Brown” is a lame word for this deep coffee. Jill calls it “Dark Roast.”
As for the crazy arm parts, Jill brings the joy to her variegated yarns. Pooling, flashing, and crazing all encouraged. The result of these yarns in the Easel Sweater is a pullover ready for everyday adventures, a celebration of color and the unexpected.
