We’ve been cooking up something fun. As we cooked, we kept discussing what to call this dish. Is it a look book? A catalog? A circular, like Trader Joe’s Fearless Flyer? (We love the Fearless Flyer, and also the word “circular.”)
Take a look at this lovely mix of graphic design and commerce: a delicious overview of yarns for Jeanette Sloan’s designs in MDK Field Guide No. 15: Open.
It’s useful and fun. It’s also necessary, because—due to the pandemic—the yarns that are specified for the patterns in Field Guide No. 15 are not available in the MDK Shop. Thanks to our friends at Fyberspates, Lichen and Lace, and Neighborhood Fiber Co. we were able to bring in superb alternatives. We’re knitting them up into samples you’ll see on each yarn’s page and in upcoming posts.
The look book (ok, it’s a look book!) connects the dots between the patterns in Field Guide No. 15 and these new yarns, so you don’t have to poke around the MDK Shop and wonder, “what are my choices here?” We also think it’s delightful to look at.
