We welcome 2021 with a bear hug, a whack on the back, a fresh beverage, and all the joy in the world. Come on in, 2021! We have been waiting for you! Never have we been so eager to say hello to a new year!
To kick things off, we are going to begin a knitalong on Monday that will bring color, joy, and fun to us all.
The focus: Kaffe Fassett designs, from Field Guide No. 16: Painterly and Field Guide No. 13: Masterclass.
Watch for all the details on Monday, January 4.
Dazzling Knitting Already Under Way
To give you a peek at what some intrepid earlybirds have been up to, we’d like to share five Kaffe Fassett projects that are already well under way.
Sue is making ornaments modeled on the houses of friends, using the Village Scarf as a starting point.
And we applaud Jessica who is SureShot on Ravelry. On her Ravelry page, she writes:
In the spirit of “go big or go home,” I’m tackling this as my first-ever intarsia project after falling hard for Fassett’s color sense.
Just a few rows in so far, but “pull from the tangle” is solid advice even if it gives you heart palpitations (see photo). Even my husband, who is not a knitter, gets intermittent anxiety looking at the mess-in-flight. I’m finding that in a year that’s particularly tested all of us in dealing with uncertainty and disorder, observing the tangle but consciously choosing to leave it be is its own sort of meditation.
We’re deep into scheming up our own projects for this knitalong. It’s going to be a lot of fun, so we hope you’ll join us.
