Remember when travel was a thing?
Well, it’s not much of a thing right now, at least not here in the United States. The big plan for my upcoming vacation is to vacate out of my office, and vacate into the other room for a week of popsicle-enhanced knitflixing.
But it hasn’t always been this way, and we hope it won’t always be this way.
For now, we have wonderful armchair traveling to do. Here are three perfect trips from MDK’s archive of travel pieces.
Last summer, Cristina Shiffman showed us around her home town, Chicago. Not everyone would remember the Art Institute with a dishcloth tribute, but Cristina did.
Just one year ago, Ann went to Iceland, land o’ lava. That was so 2019! I wish she hadn’t put her business in the street and told everybody how she didn’t knit a stitch the whole time she was there. But that’s Ann: honest. It really looks like it was a great time.
Our newest contributor, Solène Le Roux, took us on a fascinating trip to the Finistère region of Brittany, France. It’s a lovely, yarny getaway with a knowledgeable local guide, so vivid you can taste the crêpes.
